Welcome to Tranquil Tides Psychotherapy & Counselling

Welcome to Tranquil Tides where I aim to empower you to navigate life’s challenges with confidence. My name is Roxanne and I am a qualified Psychotherapist and founder of Tranquil Tides Psychotherapy & Counselling. My sessions are designed to create a safe space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. Whether you prefer in-person support in Swansea or the convenience of online counselling, your bespoke journey towards healing and growth is a stones throw away. Feel free to contact me today to take the first step towards a more balanced and fulfilling life.

A little bit about me

I am qualified to Masters (Level 7) in Humanistic Psychotherapy and a registered member with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I have been working as a therapist for two years following four years of extensive training. I have worked with the Charity Mind providing counselling services and also as a psychotherapist for Swansea-based Jac Lewis Foundation.

I use the person-centred approach as the core in my therapeutic practice and work with clients to add relevant approaches and techniques that are unique to each therapeutic relationship. These may include solution-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy and dialectical behavioural therapy approaches. I also like to invite clients to work creatively with art-based tools and tasks which can often yield great results, even for the most artistically challenged, myself included!

I work with adults, individually and as couples. My genuine and non-judgmental approach often results in people feeling safe to explore their feelings and move towards growth and transformation. I follow the BACP ethical framework and working safely is always at the forefront of my practice.

I have a background in medical research and currently work in the field of rheumatology and chronic pain and completed my PhD in a form of arthritis called Ankylosing Spondylitis. I also have a Masters in Neuroscience which I find useful to incorporate in understanding the biological basis of human behaviour.

I am an empathic listener and have an approachable manner that can make others feel at ease. Even in the darkest of times some glimmers of light can make all the difference.
